In love with Bertoia Chairs

This post is directly inspired by my article from this last week : The Black Apartment.

In the kitchen of the apartment there are 2 Warren Platner chairs that I loved, that were the object of a special note.

That made me think about the famous Bertoia Diamond Chairs and Side Chairs, and the way it is actually easy to use them. These famous chairs are real design items, and they can be used for different styles and situation and create different atmosphere : modern style, art deco, customized, classic, baroque, children rooms, colored, Scandinavian, bohème, romantic, industry, cosy...

Per questo post sono stato ispirato direttamente del mio articolo della settimana scorsa : The Black Apartment.

Nella cucina c'erano due sedie di Warren Platner per le quali avevo anche scritto una nota speciale.

Questo mi ha fatto pensare alle famose sedie Diamond e side chair di Bertoia, e della loro facilità d'utilizzo. Queste sedie che sono dei veri e propri pezzi design possono essere utilizzati per diversi stili e situazioni e aiutano a creare atmosfere totalmente diverse : Stile moderno, art deco, customizato, classico, barocco, camera dei bimbi, colorato, scandivano, bohème, romantico, indusriale, cosy...

Marsala inspiration for the week-end

You must know that the Pantone color of the year 2015 is Marsala.

This color that is really warm and chic is simple to use : for example an entire wall (only one) with great warm lights is really modern and cocooning ( according to me).

Forse siete già al corrente che il colore Pantone dell'anno 2015 è il Marsala.

Questo colore che è molto accogliente e chic, è molto semplice da usare : ad esempio un muro intero (solo 1) con delle luci gialle calde da un tocco di modernità e di cocooning (secondo me).

Ecco qui una piccola selezione della mia ispirazione Marsala.

the black apartment

This is one of the best Black dressed house I have ever seen. To be clear, I am not a big fan of monochromatic themes for houses, because it is often very cold and not welcoming. But sometimes you fall in love with diamonds, like this black diamond.

The work of the detail and the strong desire to respect the black theme of this house makes it a deep parallel world where it is easy to lose yourself.

When the world is all black, we can see that design pieces are softly accentuated and this create a cosy atmosphere. Everything is soft and warm.

Special like : the Warren Platner Chairs in the kitchen that become a masterpiece with the rustic Art deco wood table.

È uno dei appartamenti vestito di nero più bello mai visto. Normalmente non sono un grande ammiratore dei temi monocromatici, anche perché spesso è freddo e non accogliente. Ma ogni tanto ci si innamora di perle, e questa è proprio una perla nera.

Visit of the Droog Design showroom

Pure white, mix of materials, a little armchair colored like a rainbow, simple lines, and minimalism. I admire the artistic touch of the designers that created that relaxing temple of white and happy colors. Here, we are in the heart of the interior decor talent : every detail has its own place. 

What I like is that each zone is marked by a carpet, in order to create different corner in one room, and make everything warmer.

The contrast of the deep pure white and the dark colors is amazing too.

Bianco puro, mix di materiali, una piccola poltrona colorata come un'arcobaleno, linee semplici e minimalismo. Ammiro il tocco artistico dei designer che hanno creato questo piccolo mondo rilassante fatto di bianco e colori freschi. 
Qui si tratta di un vero talento di interior decorator : ogni dettaglio ha il proprio posto. Quello che mi piace è che ogni zona è accentuata con un tappeto, per creare diversi angolini in una sola stanza e riscaldare il tutto.

Il contrasto tra un bianco puro profondo è colori scuri è fantastico.

My home story visit in Paris

This is the creative apartment of Charlotte de Tonnac and Hugo Sauzay, unique and talented French designers owner of the company : Festen Architecture.

I love everything in this Parisian flat : simple lines, creativity, harmony in the colors, madness, white walls, minimalism, good balance of the empty spaces and angles, innovation, art deco objects ... and especially I love the cat!

Questo è l'appartamento creativo di Charlotte de Tonnac e di Hugo Sauzay, unici e talentuosi designer francesi proprietari del famoso studio : Festen Architecture.

My home trip story in Nantes (1)

This week I was in Nantes, in France, for work (yes again...). I cannot resit anymore to share this amazing home visit tour from the famous designer Frédéric Tabary.

I love the way he works with the wood and metal, the glass roof and the glass wall. This designer who is famous for recycling things and materials, also applies this method for his own house.

The traditional and modern atmosphere is everywhere in this house, and the cocooning effect works perfectly.

When you visit this place, you can see the different styles he as mixed together by recycling pieces of furniture. His house works like his own showroom where he shows everything he is able to build with his own hands.

This atelier is a very good source of inspiration for everyone that likes interior design, and that is interested in green solutions with sustainable houses. 

Questa settimana ero a Nantes in Francia, sempre per lavoro ( eh si ancora...). Non posso resistere e devo condividere questa casa meravigliosa che appartiene al famoso designer francese Frederic Tabary.

Mi piace molto come lavora il legno e il metallo, il tetto e i muri di vetro. Questo designer, famoso perché ricicla materiali usati, applica questo metodo anche per la sua casa.

Un'atmosfera che sa un po di tradizionale e di moderno abita questa casa, e l'effetto cocooning funziona perfettamente.

Quando visitate questo posto, potete notare gli stili diversi che sono stati mischiati soprattutto attraverso il riciclaggio di altri pezzi di mobili o altro. La sua casa fa anche da showroom dove fa vedere i suoi talenti di creatore e designer.

Questo atelier può anche essere una grande ispirazione per chi ama il mondo del design d'interni, e soprattutto per chi è interessato alle soluzioni eco-sostenibili. 

Dark grey inspiration

Dark grey is a trend this year to follow if you like a sober atmosphere with some soft colored touches.

If you use natural wood furniture or raw material, the result is amazing.

The Scandinavian style is very often a good solution.
(ps : the string lamp is amazing.... :) )
Nb : For this kind of color you can use a magnetic paint or a special one to use with chalk sticks

Il grigio scuro è proprio un trend da seguire questo anno, soprattutto se vi piacciono gli ambienti sobri con qualche tocco di colore soft.

Se usate dei mobili fatti con legno grezzo o materiali grezzi, il risultato è unico.

Lo stile Scandinavo è spesso volentieri una buona soluzione.
(ps : quanto amo questi lampadine a filo... :) )
NB : per questa tipologia di colore si possono anche usare vernici magnetiche o fatte per il gesso.

Visiting an old loft

This could be the loft that everyone that loves interior design would choose to live. Interior design is an endless creation and dream. 

In this place you will find every detail that I like in design : grunge character, vintage and colored furniture, natural and raw materials, beautiful lamps, spaces, mix of different styles, huge delicacy of choice in the details...

I could write a lot about this masterpiece. But this time I will let you imagine your own words looking at the pictures.

The furniture to remember : The pink and yellow grunge carpet that is amazing.

The detail that makes the difference : when you have big spaces like that it's always better to play with the forms and curves in order to avoid to much monotony. Then, the impression of emptiness always comes from the ceiling, so use big string lamps to fill it.

Questo potrebbe essere il loft per chiunque ama il design d'interni potrebbe scegliere di andare a viverci. Questo mondo è un mondo di creazione e sogni infiniti...

In questo posto si trovano tutti i dettagli che apprezzo nel design : lato molto grunge, mobili vintage e colorati, materiali grezzi e naturali, lampade meravigliose, spazzi, mix di stili diversi, finezza incredibile nei dettagli...

Potrei scrivere tanto su questo capolavoro. Ma questa volta vi lascerò immaginare le proprie parole guardando queste fotografie.

Il mobile da ricordare : il tappeto rosa e giallo che è splendido.

Il dettaglio che fa la differenza : quando si tratta di spazzi ampi così, è sempre meglio giocare con le forme e le curve dei mobili per evitare la monotonia facile in questi casi. Poi, l'impressione del vuote viene sempre dal soffitto, quindi bisogna usare lampadari ampi e lunghi, come quelli a fili.

My tour story in Vienna...

Last week I was in Vienna for work and as usual, when I travel I always try to get some inspiration, in one of the most interesting place in the city where I go.
Like I've done in Bruxelles, I visited very concept place I would like to share with you.
Vienna is always full of ideas, different styles, modernity and innovation in design. Let's have a look in this beautiful place. The Daniel Hôtel.

La settimana scorsa ero a Vienna per lavoro e come al solito, quando viaggio provo sempre a andare a vedere belle cose per l'ispirazione del momento.

Come avevo fatto a Bruxelles, ho visitato un posto che mi fa piacere condividere qui.

Vienna è sempre piena di iniziative, idee, stili diversi, modernità e innovazione nel design. Vediamo un po un bellissimo posto. The Daniel Hotel.

People define it a luxurious Hotel, I prefer just saying that it is a Hotel created to make the difference. The prices are totally affordable. So I think that this hotel is a very good place to go when you decide to spend a week end in the romantic Vienna.

Yellow is in the air...

You like yellow? You like design? You are a bit crazy? And you think your home is sad? You want to make it more special?

So you will love this trend : touches of yellow!

Vi piace il giallo? Vi piace il design? Siete un po pazzi? E soprattutto pensate che la vostra casa è un po noiosa? La volete rendere ancora più speciale?

The most simple is to get a mustard yellow sofa (which is a Mad Men classical furniture)! But of course for a cheaper way to change your flat, buy cushions, plaids, a carpet, why not a wallpaper, put a yellow painting on your wall, use this colors in the objects you wanna expose.

Il migliore modo per aderire a questo trend è di addirittura pensare a comprarsi il divano giallo mostarda (che è un classico alla Mad Men)! Ma ovviamente ci sono altri modi meno costosi per cambiare il proprio appartamento : aggiungete cuscini, plaids, un tappeto, perché no della carta da parati, o attaccate un quadro giallo sul muro. Usate questo colore nell'oggettistica che volete esporre.

My Calligaris story....

Italy can really be considered as the most unique Design industry ever. No one is able to create these kind of curves mixed with these fresh lines. 

What I like in the Made in Italy Design, is the fact that everything is perfect, precise and every detail has not been created at random. 

Calligaris is an example of quality and inventiveness that really must be considered by every single designer. 

We all know that no one is perfect, so as our home, but sometimes it is really relaxing to dream...

L'Italia può veramente essere considerata unica nell'industria del Design. Nessuno sa creare questa tipologia di curve insieme a queste linee fresche e pulite.

Quello che mi piace di più nell'Made In Italy, è proprio il fatto che tutto è perfetto, preciso e ogni dettaglio non è stato creato per caso.

Calligaris è un esempio di qualità e inventività che è proprio da considerare per ogni designer. Sappiamo tutti che nessuno è perfetto, ancora meno le nostre case, ma ogni tanto fa molto rilassare sognare un po....

Black is back

The talented designer Laurence Simoncini has decided to change apartment. Still in Paris, and still with her favorite color : black.

This designer has a really special talent, I think she is the only one to be able to work so well with black : industrial spirit, raw materials, punchy colors, handmade furniture, and a lot of natural light.

As she did in her former apartment (it will be another post in the next weeks), she created an harmony between modernity with design pieces and classical hand-made furniture. The result is amazing; this flat seems to be warm and the most important, it has a soul.

Laurence Simoncini is definitely one of the best. 

La talentuosa designer Laurence Simoncini a deciso di cambiare casa. Sempre a Parigi, e sempre con il suo colore preferito : il nero.

Questa designer ha veramente un talento speciale, penso che sia l'unica capace di lavorare così bene con il nero : spirito industry, materiali grezzi, colori forti, mobili artigianali, e tanta luce naturale.

Come aveva fatto nel suo ex appartamento (sarà oggetto di un post nelle prossime settimane), ha creato un'armonia pazzesca tra modernità con pezzi design e mobili grezzi fatti a mano. Il risultato ci lascia senza parole : questa casa è accogliente, e il più importante, ha un'anima.

Laurence Simoncini è senz'altro una delle migliori.

trip in the trendy Bruxelles

This week I was in Brussels for a business trip and I decided to go and visit the famous "Hôtel des Galeries" : soft colors, mix between vintage, modern and Scandinavian furnitures, and finally a natural parquet to make it warmer. 

The use of the different materials is the key of this wonderful hotel.

This place is very cozy, with a good balance of Scandinavian lines and classical ones that are so important in this graceful city.

=> the designer are Fleur Delasalle and Camille Flammarion.

Questa settimana ero a Bruxelles per lavoro, e ne ho approfittato per andare a visitare il famoso "Hôtel des Galeries" : colori soft, mix di mobili vintage, moderni e scandinavi, e per finire un parquet naturale per riscaldare il tutto. 

L'uso di diversi materiali è il punto chiave che fa di questo stabilimento un hotel meraviglioso.

Questo posto è molto accogliente, con un giusto equilibrio tra le linee scandinave e le linee classiche care alla poetica Bruxelles.

I love the mix of the different styles for the furniture, the different material used, cement and raw wood....

Elegante, chic, armonioso, potente, moderno, classico, accogliente, classico... tante parole per descrivere questa meravigliosa casa creata dalla sua proprietaria stessa : la designer Lotte Minch.

Mi piace molto l'uso di stili diversi, di materiali usati come il cemento o il legno grezzo...

industry inspiration

For an Industrial Style, the thing is to avoid too much iron, the best atmosphere can be created with raw or recycled wood, mixed with a good balance soft and dark deep colors...Some strings for the lights.... And then admire the result : ready for a big friendly lunch with your friends!?

Per uno stile Industry, il punto è di evitare di esagerare con il metallo, la migliore atmosfera può essere creata con del legno grezzo, mischiato con un giusto equilibrio di colori soft e molto scuri... Qualche filo per le luci... E dopo godetevi il risultato : pronti per un pranzo con gli amici?!

A great Dîner table to try with your friends during this period. I like the mix between warm winter colors and the Nature. Try it it is really simple for a huge effect : take some branches, use lamps and candles to create dark lights, buy some season fruits like apples and use soft colors for the base (beige, brown...).

Voglia di una serata calda in compagnia!

Un tavolo da provare soprattutto per questo periodo. Mi piace l'armonia tra i colori invernali caldi e la natura. Provate anche voi, è semplice per un effetto garantito : prendete qualche ramo, usate lampade da tavolo e candele per l'effetto penombra, disponete qualche frutta di stagione come delle mele e usate per la base dei colori soft come il beige o marrone.

Un tavolo unico per una bellissima serata con gli amici!
